Money saving tips

Did you know that if you have children who were born on or after 1st September 2002, they will most likely be eligible for a Child Trust Fund account? The government provides eligible children with £250 which is designed to help children and their families save for their future from an early age.

  • Swap it and save!
Children’s clothes can often be expensive, especially when they grow out of them so quickly. If you see other families at nursery or the school gates why not arrange a clothes swap, or look in charity shops for bargains.
  • Save up for something special.
If your children are given pocket money or receive money for their birthday, encourage them to save up for something special, rather than just spending it all at once.

Nationwide Education has some fun, interactive games and quizzes that you can do with your children to help them learn more about money.
